Glass mousepads have been around for a few years now, but none have really caught on. The 3.0 XL Glass from Skypad may be the one to change that. It's thick, heavy and made of real glass. But does it make a difference? Let's take a look.
First off, the packaging is very premium. The mousepad comes in a black cover on packaging with the Skypad logo etched into the top. It's a nice touch and shows that they're confident in their products durability.
Once you get it out of the box, you can see this thing is HEAVY. It weighs in at over 4 pounds (1.8kg). That's nearly twice as much as the SteelSeries QCK+ Heavy.
The extra weight does make it feel very premium, but it also means that it's not going to be easy to move around. This is definitely a mousepad that you're going to want to leave in one spot.
The glass surface is smooth and feels great to use. My mouse glides effortlessly across it. The pad is also very large. It's big enough for even the biggest mice, like the Roccat Kova.
It’s clear that a lot of thought went into the design and construction of the Skypad 3.0 XL. If you’re looking for something different in a mousepad, or just want to see what all the fuss is about, go ahead and pick up one today.
